You work hard to achieve peak performance. Whether you’re a hard core athlete or you want to change your lifestyle to include better fitness, your workout regimen takes a toll on your body. Rest and recovery are critical to your success. Your muscles need rest to repair, rebuild, and strengthen. Overtraining — working without recovery — actually begins to break down muscles and weaken even the strongest athletes.
Recovery allows the body to:
- adapt to the stress of exercise
- replenish energy stores
- repair damaged tissues
Signs of Overtraining include:
- feeling of general malaise
- decreased athletic performance
- apathy or depression
ARC’s recovery services give you the tools, time, and space to properly recover so your body bounces back more quickly and you stay on top of your game. Your recovery membership includes unlimited access to several recovery tools.
Sunlighten Infrared Sauna
Feel stress and muscle pain melt away in our Sunlighten Infrared Sauna. Experience detoxification, anti-aging and skin purification, pain relief, muscle relaxation, improved circulation and blood pressure and even weight loss.
The sauna’s high heat releases endorphins, the hormones that make you feel happy. Dry saunas use high temperatures and controlled humidity to instigate endorphin release. Our Sunlighten Infrared Saunas use full spectrum infrared technology to bring about the same effects as dry saunas without reaching the same temperatures. You don’t feel quite as suffocatingly hot in our saunas.
Increase flexibility and gain muscle power when you include the Vibe Plate in your recovery routine. Rapid vibrations from the vibe plate stimulate certain receptors over muscles and tendons, causing small contractions. Whole body vibration mobilizes the lymphatic system, releasing toxins and strengthening the immune system. The vibe plate helps regain muscle strength and bone density, helps reduce recovery time after exercise and injury and stimulates healthier brain function. Research suggests that whole body vibe training can help younger athletes gain flexibility and sedentary and older people gain muscle power and performance.
Marc Pro Electrical Stimulation
The more conditioned muscles are, the better they work and the longer they last before breakdown. The Marc Pro electronically stimulates muscles to contract and relax, improving muscle performance. Get temporary relief of pain in the shoulder, waist, back, neck, arm, and leg muscles due to strain from exercise or normal work activities.
Leg day isn’t so bad when you recover with the NormaTec system. Designed to enhance blood flow, the NormaTec systems include attachments for arms, legs, or hips. Compressed air massages limbs, mobilizes fluids, and speeds recovery. NormaTec’s patented Pulse Massage pattern uses pulsing, gradients, and distal release to maximize your recovery.
- Step 1: Pre-Inflate – connected attachments mold to your body shape
- Step 2: Compression to hands, feet, or upper quad begins with a pulse and release combination
- Step 3: Massaging pulse and release repeats as the compression pattern works its way up your limb
Hot and Cold Whirlpool
Both hot and cold tubs revitalize your muscles and speed recovery time. Our cold water aquatic therapy pool keeps water temperatures at 50ºF to help control inflammation and enhance muscle recovery. By numbing the nerves around the muscles and promoting the release of endorphins, cold water therapy alleviates muscle joint stress and strain. Our hot water therapy pool keeps temperatures between 94ºF and 104ºF to help relax tight muscles and stimulate the release of endorphins.

Resting Metabolic Rate Test (RMR)
The RMR test determines how many calories your body uses while at rest. The measurement is made by analyzing the amount of oxygen your body uses and the amount of carbon dioxide it produces. Carbon dioxide is produced when your body breaks down carbohydrates and fats to make energy. The percentage of the energy created from carbohydrates and fats can be determined by measuring the carbon dioxide your body produces.
This information helps you know how many calories you need each day to maintain or lose weight.
During the RMR test, you relax in a chair wearing a face mask that covers your mouth and nose while your oxygen uptake and carbon dioxide output are measured for 10 minutes. The key to getting the most accurate results is your ability to remain as relaxed as possible.
To prepare for your RMR text, you should not eat or drink anything other than water for at least 4 hours before. You should also avoid exercise and physical labor during that time.
Take your results to your ARC trainer to get a customized nutrition and work out plan to reach your fitness goals.
